Samer Santiago from Two S – The man of the pearls

18 Jul

“El hombre de las perlas” – the man of the pearls, this is how I would describe the designer and founder of the jewelry brand Two S, Samer Santiago.

The man of the pearls – Samer Santiago

A few months ago, I met the designer of Two S at the “ Inderum” showroom event in Barcelona as you can read in my previous post.

Later, I had a chance to visit him in his studio in Barcelona and talk to him a little bit more about his work. In his office he introduced me to the world of pearls and showed me his new designs and projects he is currently working on.

This time we had a little bit more time to talk about his work and I got some interesting facts about the creator behind the brand Two S.

Before Samer started creating and selling his own jewelry designs, he worked for several years in different countries, such as Spain, Switzerland and Australia, offering exclusive pearls to his demanding customers. Having enjoyed enormous success in these kinds of fields, he still did not feel satisfied with his work, so in 2010 he decided to go one step further and start his own business with his exclusive jewelry brand Two S.

The designer gets his inspiration from the architecture of famous buildings and represents it in his creations. Every single piece of his jewelry collection is handmade and therefore unique. Some of the pieces are made by him personally.

In his office he showed me the raw materials that he is using for his new jewelry collection. They are made using only natural materials like tropical wood, pearls and diamonds. For the first time in my life I had more than a handful of real pearls around my neck valued at thousands of Euros. I have to admit that it was a nice feeling having the cold pearls on my skin. He also explained to me the quality differences between the pearls and their value. Depending on the purity of the pearls the prices can vary from 30 – 600 Euros for one single pearl.

I love pearls too. Bought my first pearl from the Seaworld in Florida where they actually open the Oyster in front of you and remove the cultured pearl. My sister in law has just started to make jewellery and made me a cultured pearls necklace. I am sure she will love reading this article.

      Hi BinduDesigns,

The logo caused me a big headache, after months of thinking … just draw it in a bar on a small paper while having my morning coffee. And here you go

      Thank you so much

    Hi All

Thank you, Kukita for that opportunity to join the pearl lovers.
My world is around pearls, I just love them as you all.
Pearls always surprise me. It is hard to find pearls that look the same.
I think pearls are like persons, each pearl come from different oyster like us, we come from different mother, even brothers are different.
So to find the matching pearl or to find the matching couple it takes time or maybe you will not be able to find it ever. So imagine a necklace … It take years if the pearls are for example, South Sea pearls.
Color, size, skin, shape and the lightness of the color.

I’ ll be happy to answer your questions if you have any questions, doubts.

    My email is : info@two2es.com

Very cool pictures and post. Pearls are many things but for me, they just look cool. It’s great that you got to get an inside look into how they’re put together into beautiful collections to be sold.
