How to love yourself ?

14 Jan

How can you love others if you don’t love yourself enough? To express and share your love, you have to find the love inside you.

One of my inspirations of how to find the love in me and love myself is “How to Love Yourself” by Louise Hay. She gives a lot of practical advice on how to start loving yourself every day.

Steps to start loving yourself by Louise Hay:

1. Stop criticizing yourself – Accept the mistakes you have made and might do in the future. If you don’t make mistakes you don’t grow

2. Don’t scare yourself – Have you ever had a situation in your life that you could not handle? Exactly, no! You can handle everything in your life, no matter what comes your way

3. Be gentle, kind and patient with yourself – Think of your life as a garden: what kind of seeds will you plant to create the garden you want to have? – remember the seeds are your thoughts

4. Be kind to your mind – With every thought we have and every word we speak, we are creating our future and our life. If you are thinking and saying only nice thinks, you are creating a beautiful life for yourself. Be patient with yourself and try to think and say only nice thinks about yourself and about the people around you

5. Praise yourself as much as you can – Tell yourself how well you are doing things

6. Support yourself – Reach out to friends and groups for support

Surround yourself with people who think positively and give you the motivation you need. If you feel that some people bring you down, leave them for your own good, even if it is painful

7. Be loving of your negatives – Negative choices had a purpose to fulfill a need in your life. Every negative experience has something positive. Nothing happens without a reason

8. Take care of your body – Love the “house” you are living in and watch what you are putting into your body. Eat real food! Grow your own little garden

La Kukita at the 080 Barcelona Fashion Show – Josep Abril and Celia Vela

11 Jul

Last week, from the 30th of June until the 4th of July 2014, the city of Barcelona had Fashion Fever yet again.

The 14th bi-annual 080 Barcelona Fashion Show took place in the famous Sant Pau building of Barcelona, where 21 designers and 14 brands were present and showed their Spring – Summer 2015 collection.

For this special occasion I wanted to wear something that only I possessed. So I decided three weeks before the Fashion Event to design my own dress. My grandpa who is a professional tailor helped me to fulfill my dream of a long classy red dress.

I hope you like the result as much as I do!

Irina

A few days before the 080 Barcelona Fashion Show my dress was ready and so was I!

At this year’s 080 Barcelona Fashion Week Spring – Summer 2015, I had the opportunity to see the latest collection of two famous Spanish designers Josep Abril and Celia Vela.

Josep Abril

The Catalan Designer Josep Abril is one of the Spain’s leading men’s fashion designers. His unconventional suits are a mainstay on Spanish catwalks in Barcelona and Madrid. Apart from his collection for men, he also creates costumes for shows, theater and opera. In his latest collection he mainly used the colors black, grey, blue and green.

FD Moda Fashion Event 2014

3 Jun

Last Saturday, the 24th of May, the FD Moda Fashion Event organized by the international School of Fashion, FD Moda Barcelona, took place in Sala Barts.

This year’s Fashion Event was dedicated to the international photographer Daniel Riera, who received an FD Moda Award for his work and achievements in the Fashion Industry.

The guests had a chance to meet Daniel Riera personally and have a look at the projects that he completed for magazines like Vogue, GQ Germany, Harper’s Bazaar, V Magazine as well as fashion companies Lacoste, Triumph, bimba & lola and Canali. He showed his best shoots and explained to the audience how he implemented his ideas to make the shoot as good as possible.

Some facts about Daniel Riera:

–          He enjoys taking pictures of people with no modeling experience

–          He prefers colorful clothes rather than just black and white

–          He loves to do fashion shoots in the middle of the street, not in a studio because there is more life and action on the streets

–          He is fascinated by taking pictures of objects, like a simple wine bottle with a glass and putting it into a nice shape

La Kukita at the 080 Barcelona Fashion Show

19 Feb

One week before the 080 Barcelona Fashion Week Autumn – Winter 2014\15 I received a message from a lovely lady from the Spanish newspaper LaVanguardia that was saying that I was invited to join the Barcelona Fashion Show in el Born Centre Cultural to see the designer Celia Vela. I could not believe my eyes…This made my day and the whole week!

As soon as I got the invitation I start thinking about my outfit for that day. I wanted to find something that represents me. Finally, I picked blue pants with a white chiffon blouse and a white jacket. To my look I added vintage shoes and a clutch made by myself. To complete my look I decided to wear my handmade necklace. My look was ready and so was I.

Finally, the day of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Show arrived. Outside El Born Centre Cultural you could feel the Fashion Fever in the air. Journalists, Promoters, Stylists and Fashionistas, there were all there between the pop – up stores and the entrance of the building. Inside El Born Centre Cultural you could make your hair and make-up done by professional stylists and taste some Moritz beer, special beer from Barcelona.

Around 30 minutes before the actual show of Celia Vela you could see the waiting line slowly growing. All journalists, fashionistas and VIP’s could not wait the show to begin. After everyone took their seats the magnificent show started with the famous Spanish model Andrés Velencoso who presented the new collection for men. At the end of the show all the models came out together with the designer Celia Vela to give a big applause for her work.

Once the show of Celia Vela was over the guests could walk around and explore all the nice things at the pop- up stores, which have been only accessible for the special guests of the Fashion Show. There you could find so many amazing local designers. In the upcoming post you will know more about them.
